Book SPIRIT Indiana for fun, interactive lectures on parapsychology, hauntings, and Hoosier history.
We are S.P.I.R.I.T. Paranormal Indiana — the state's oldest paranormal group, investigating since 2000. We offer interested venues and groups the chance to book a lecture workshop. These are fun presentations for adults and teens interested in ghost hunting. Our purpose is to educate the public on the scientific field of parapsychology and remove any false assumptions they may have. We also work to educate on the history of these locations and subjects.
Most programs last approximately 45 minutes unless otherwise noted, followed by a question-and-answer session. The presentation is interactive and visual. We always accept and appreciate an honorarium. SPIRIT is a self-funded group — when we receive honorariums, we purchase new equipment and maintain our existing gear to further the scientific field.

This program lasts approximately 45 minutes. It is a fun, interactive, and visual workshop involving the audience — a PowerPoint-driven presentation of about seventy slides, conducted by our founder Chief Lawson and team members present. The program starts with a brief history of ghost hunting and its methodology. We then look at modern ghost hunting and paranormal TV. Next we discuss ghosts in general — theories on how they are created and the science that proves they exist; we explain the science behind parapsychology and the difference between it and the paranormal, classifications of hauntings, and a look at the equipment we use. To wrap it up, we cover some fun and scary stories from cases spanning over 23 years as a group, followed by Q&A. An excellent course for the Halloween season or as an introduction to parapsychology — targets the curious, skeptical, and aspiring investigators.
This 45-minute PowerPoint-driven lecture workshop is a deep dive into Hoosier legends, ghosts, and places. We begin with the Avon Bridge, where we dispel and validate some of the legends, folklore, and paranormal claims associated with the bridge. Then we delve into the history and hauntings of the Hanna House — diving into misinformation and claims of its long history as an underground railroad stop and the ghosts of enslaved people buried in the basement. Q&A follows. Targets the curious and the skeptic; excellent for any season.
This 45-minute PowerPoint-driven lecture workshop is a deep dive into Hoosier legends, ghosts, and places. We begin with the House of Blue Lights at Fall Creek and Shadeland in Indianapolis. Every high schooler in the classes of 1955 to 1978 knew of this legend. Did Skiles test in case his dead wife was in a glass coffin and keep blue lights on her? Come and see. We finish with University Heights Hospital on Indianapolis's east side. Community Hospital purchased it and became Community South, leaving behind the old building and some ghosts. Learn about the ghost of Doctor Green. Q&A follows.
This 45-minute PowerPoint-driven lecture workshop is a deep dive into Hoosier legends, ghosts, and places. We begin with the Fowler Theater in Fowler, Indiana — beautiful art deco architecture that harbors some fascinating spirits. We finish with Greenlawn Cemetery vs. the city of Indianapolis. Sitting amidst the old Diamond Chain site, this is the true poltergeist story, where they moved the stones but not the bodies. In 2024, Indy Eleven was building Indianapolis's first soccer stadium and more bodies were discovered during construction. We cover the haunting accounts of Diamond Chain employees' encounters with the Greenlawn ghosts. Q&A follows.
This 45-minute PowerPoint-driven lecture workshop is a special "Freemason-Shriner" addition. We begin with the Murat Shrine Temple, located between the streets of Alabama and New Jersey in Indianapolis. We look at the history of the organizations, the buildings, and the hauntings, and discuss Elijas Jacoby, the building's most famous ghost and past potentate. We end with the Gattling Gun Club, once located at 707 & 709 N Illinois St. in Indianapolis — debunking some history and legends while attempting to discover the identity of the ghosts that belong there. Q&A follows.
This 45-minute PowerPoint-driven lecture workshop is a deep dive into Hoosier legends. We begin with the Volrath Tavern at 118 E Palmer St., Indianapolis — a rich history as both a speakeasy and a brothel, frequented by the likes of Al Capone and John Dillinger. We explore its secret tunnels and famous ghosts. We end with the Gaslight Tavern at 2280 S. Meridian St. on Indianapolis's south side. This local tavern has hosted many spirits, not just those from the bar — once operated as a local speakeasy. Q&A follows.
This 45-minute PowerPoint-driven lecture workshop is a deep dive into Hoosier legends. We begin with the Randolph Asylum and Infirmary, located at 1884 S 100 E, Winchester, Indiana — a horrific history. We explore its former residents and hallways, examine a murder committed by its own residents, and reveal its famous ghosts. Best of all, we'll reveal our 2025 investigation and show our collected evidence. There is so much evidence that we have dedicated this lecture solely to the Infirmary. This is one you do not want to miss. Q&A follows.
This 45-minute PowerPoint-driven workshop is an introduction to the many origins of Christmas — covering pagan, Nordic, Celtic, Christian, and Swedish origins. We cover modern Christian traditions as well, and discuss A Christmas Carol, Krampus, ice elves, Mari Lwyd, Yule, St. Nicholas, Santa Claus, and more. Q&A follows. This program is great for December. Not intended for children under 12.
This 45-minute PowerPoint-driven lecture workshop delves into the legends of Irish ghosts — covering well-known figures such as the Banshee, the cóiste bodhar, Dullahan, fairies, leprechauns, Pookas, witches, and even the Devil himself. We discuss haunted sites including Lemp Castle, Loftus Hall, pubs, inns, estates, gaols, and the Hellfire Caves, plus the ghosts of shipwrecks. An engaging and informative experience for all participants — maybe a few surprises. Q&A follows. Often scheduled before St. Patrick's Day or Easter.
This program takes an intense dive into object attachment. We examine the difference between a haunted attachment, a demonic possession/infestation, and cursed objects. We look at famous examples such as Annabelle, Robert the Doll, Okiko, the Dybbuk Box, James Dean's Porsche Spyder, and the Crying Boy painting. Q&A follows. Targets the curious and the skeptic — relevant given the recent media attention to Annabelle's tour in 2025 and the death of her handler. Great for any season.
Race fans, come one, come all. This program looks at the world of racing — some of the ghost stories, drivers' superstitions, haunted racetracks, and a look at some of the legendary haunted and cursed cars. Q&A follows. Excellent for any season, but favorably scheduled before or during the month of May due to the 500 Race.
